Padel, also known as padel tennis, is a racket sport of Mexican origin, typically played in doubles on an indoor court slightly smaller than a standard tennis court. The padel court measures 20 meters in length and 10 meters in width. It is divided into two halves by a net, which is 88 cm high in the center and 92 cm at the ends. The balls used in padel are similar to tennis balls but with slightly lower pressure. The main differences are that the court is enclosed by walls, off which the ball can bounce (similar to squash), and that solid, non-strung rackets are used.

The game is played in sets, and the scoring is identical to tennis.

It is typically played in doubles, although it can be played with four players, but this version is less common.

The game starts with a serve from one of the players. The ball must first bounce on the ground before being hit and must be hit below waist level.

After the serve, the game continues with an exchange of shots between the teams. The ball can bounce off the wall once before being counted as an invalid hit. The rally continues until one team makes a mistake or scores a point.

The scoring system in padel is the same as in tennis. The team that first wins 6 games wins the set. If the set score is 6:6, a tiebreak is played.
